Frequently asked

Is Pantry really free?

Yes — completely free. No paid tier, no upgrade nag, and no trial.

Do I need an account?

No. There's nothing to sign up for. Everything works the moment you install it.

Where do my saved recipes go?

Into your normal Chrome bookmarks, in a tidy alphabetical folder called "Recipes." That means they sync to mobile Chrome, are searchable from the address bar, and stay with you even if you uninstall Pantry.

Does Pantry work on my phone?

Chrome extensions run on desktop Chrome, so Pantry's auto-scroll and notes are a desktop experience. But because recipes save as real bookmarks, the recipes you save sync to Chrome on your phone automatically.

A recipe site isn't working — why?

Pantry uses several strategies to find the recipe (jump links, known recipe plugins, structured data, and a fallback), so it works on the large majority of sites. If one slips through, send it our way and we'll add it.

How do I turn off ingredient hints or analytics?

Both are toggles on Pantry's options page. Right-click the Pantry icon and choose "Options," or open it from the popup.

Will Pantry slow down or break the pages I visit?

It shouldn't. Pantry only scrolls the page, adds tooltips on ingredient mentions, and mounts its own toolbar and side panel. It doesn't strip ads or rewrite the blog's content — the page loads as the creator built it.
